Standing is Doing Something

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore …
— Ephesians 6:13-14

Our cry to God is for the greatest Christian revival and awakening our nation has ever seen. We will not stop asking for increased measures of His Spirit, conversions by the masses, overflowing prayer meetings, proliferation of God’s word throughout culture, social benefits to help the poor and save the unborn, missionary fervor, and on and on.

Right now, however, it seems that we’re only withstanding the evil day we’re facing. While our heart’s desire is to move forward for Christ and not simply remain stationary, God reminds us in Ephesians 6:10-20 that there are times when standing firm is itself a victory.

Even so, there are many Christians who are struggling merely to stay put in Christ amidst the attacks of the powers of darkness in our nation. Pray for those who are under attack, that they may be able to stand on the solid rock of Christ even though the culture wants them to compromise their convictions.

Pray also for the judges of our land who weigh important court cases that could force Christians to violate the law of the land or the law of the Kingdom of Heaven. Pray that Christian lawyers, judges, and legal agencies will have insight and faith to protect and establish righteous laws in our nation.

Have mercy, Son of David, on the United States of America!

Yours in Christ,
